Brooklyn Bridge


The engineering of the Brooklyn Bridge was ahead of its time in several respects and that fact was to prove very costly. The instigator of the project, engineer John A. Roebling was the inventor of spun wire cable. It was this accomplishment that involved him in bridge building, a natural application of the new technology.
