The slender Empire State Building continues to hold center stage of Manhatant's skyline. The colors of its tower lights are changed to honor events, holidays, seasons, and New York’s many nationalities. The building glows green on St. Patrick’s Day and red on St. Valentine’s Day; red and yellow in the fall and red and green for the Christmas holidays; red, yellow, and green on Portugal Day and green, white, and orange for India Independence Day; and of course red, white, and blue for Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, and the Fourth of July.
