Manhattan

When completed in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world, the first to be built of steel, and the second tallest structure (after the Trinity Church) in the city. Although still remembered as an engineering marvel of its day, what continues to impress is its beauty; its intricate cabling appears spun in gossamer strands between its massive Gothic towers.
