Cape Town at Night
For Capetonians a daily dose of sun, sea and fresh air is part of the rhythm of life. Come the end of the working day, they’re out on the beaches, bursting the bubbly, tucking into deli fare bought on the way to their favourite strip of sun-bleached sand, and soaking up the last heat of the day. As night falls, burning candles flicker along the shoreline like miniature lighthouses. But by far the city’s best-kept secret is this long stretch of beach – and the stunning view of Cape Town and Table Mountain – at Bloubergstrand where at dusk the only sounds that can be heard are those of gently lapping waves and seagulls calling.
